What is with the age choice for this conference? We wanted a conference that could accomidate all singles that have or soon will 'graduate' from the YSA, including those who have aged out of the MSA program. We recognize that this covers a very wide range of ages, and there will be many activities (including speed dating, dancing, and social sessions) that are split up by age so that all participants have many opportunities to meet others their own age.
-
How do I buy a ticket?Go to the registration page.
-
Are refunds allowed? We will not offer refunds, but we will allow for ticket transfers. If you have purchased a ticket and can no longer make it to the conference, please make every effort to find a person to buy your ticket from you (try posting on this Facebook group!).
-
I would like to attend the conference but can't afford it.We would love for as many people to attend as possible. If you cannot afford the registration fee, please contact your bishop first and have him email us (committee@dcldssinglesconference.com).

What is the nearet airport? The Ronald Reagan DCA airport is the closest to the conference activities, and is even a short metro ride away from the 23rd St meetinghouses. Dulles International Airport (IAD) is also within reasonable distance, and even has a metro connected to it for easy and economical access to the city.
-
Who should I talk to if I have questions about the conference? Please reach out to the DC Singles Conference committee with questions. You can find them by email (committee@dcldssinglesconference.com) or post on the Facebook Group, which is regularly monitored. During the conference, please also feel free to reach out on the Whova App via the Community tab, where you will find an "Ask Organizers Anything" board.
-
Who is in charge of the conference? While this conference is a North America North East (NANE) event, the Mount Vernon Virginia Stake is considered the host stake for the conference. There is a planning committee that consists of two co-chairs from the Mount Vernon Stake, and many committee members and volunteers from surrounding stakes and beyond. This conference is really made possible by an amazing committee of dedicated singles who have worked for many months to plan this year's conference. We hope you will enjoy!

What housing options are there? If you are coming from out of town, you have a few options: (1) local hotel (there are many near the Crystal City area), (2) rental house (AirBnB), (3) stay with a local friend, or (4) stay at Georgetown University (approximately 5miles from the 23rd St meetinghouses for Saturday; a limited number of shared/private rooms will be available). Each of these options can be on your own or with fellow attendees, which you can coordinate through the Facebook Group or through the conference Whova app (there will be a Community Board where people can coordinate on housing, rides, etc).
-
What do you mean by bunk beds?Which rooms/layouts Georgetown will be providing us is to be determined. We’ve been told that it is 2 beds. When looking at the information online, it shows 3 beds, 2 of which are a bunk. We’re just trying to preempt in case there are bunk beds and ensure anyone who isn't comfortable being on a top bunk isn't.

HotelsThere are numerous hotels in Crystal City, which is near Ronald Reagan airport (DCA) and the 23rd St meetinghouses (for Saturday's events). A few of these hotels include: Hilton Garden Inn Reagan National Airport Courtyard by Marriott Arlington Crystal City/Reagan National Airport Hampton Inn & Suites Arlington Crystal City DCA The Westin Crystal City Reagan National Airport Crystal Gateway Marriott Crowne Plaza Crystal City-Washington, D.C. Embassy Suites by Hilton Crystal City National Airport DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Washington DC - Crystal City Crystal City Marriott at Reagan National Airport Hilton Arlington National Landing Holiday Inn National Airport/Crystal City No rooms at these have been reserved, so conference attendees will need to make their own reservations. Attendees are welcome to utilize the Facebook Group or Whova app to coordinate sharing of rooms, if interested.
-
Georgetown UniversityA limited number of rooms have been reserved at Georgetown University student housing. We will most likely be utilizing Leavey Hall, the former Georgetown University Hotel. The rooms have space for up to 2 people, have a private bathroom, and attendees can identify a specific person (of the same gender) that they want to share a room with, or identify specific preferences of a new friend that we might be able to set you up with. Conference attendees can sign up for this housing through the ticket 'Add-on' on the conference registration page
-
Housing with localsConference attendees often ask if there are local members with extra space that they might be willing to host conference attendees. While this may be an option, the conference will not be coordinating this housing, and encourages attendees to utilize the Facebook Group or Whova app to try and find if there are any locals who have space.
-
Dietary restrictionsConference attendees will be asked for dietary restrictions in the registration question form. Please indicate what your needs (not wants) are, and we will make every effort possible to ensure people have food!
-
What meals are being offered?Saturday breakfast and lunch, and Sunday dinner will be provided by the conference. Attendees are also invited to join an optional small brunch gathering on Sunday morning, which will also be provided, for those who are interested. There are optional dinner groups on Friday night, but conference attendees must pay their own meal. Other light refreshments/snacks will be provided at the Friday night social (ice cream🍨), light hors d'ouevres at the gala on Saturday, and snacks on Sunday after church. Dinner will not be provided on Saturday evening. However, interested attendees are invited to organize themselves into dinner groups and experience some of DC's food scene, if time permits.
-
Parking - Georgetown UniversityAttendees should keep in mind that there is no parking on Georgetown campus, and people who bring their own cars will need to park off campus and pay daily parking rates. One of the nearest parking lots is located at 3307 M St NW, Washington, DC 20007.
-
Where can I park?We understand parking can be stressful! We have identified various locations during the conference that are recommended for parking to help alleviate some of this stress. For general awareness, parking in the DC area is generally limited and requires payment during the day on weekdays, and many areas are free on the weekend. Please check all signs wherever you park! There are sometimes meters, payment boxes, or payment accepted through the ParkMobile app, or you can even try to reserve a spot in advance through the SpotHero app (if you are going into DC). If you are not from the area, anticipate average parking fees of around $20. Otherwise, you can anticipate a parking voucher provided on Friday at National Harbor, parking in a public (free) garage on Saturday for the morning's events, various possibilities on Saturday afternoon (depending on your activity), a parking garage on Saturday night, and free parking on Sunday at the DC Temple.
-
Parking - Friday Night - Opening Social @ National HarborThere are a few parking garages (Fleet, Mariner, and St. George) and lots in the National Harbor. Parking passes will be provided to conference attendees upon check-in at the canopy on the wharf. If you do not check in, you will need to pay your own parking, so be sure to find the check-in table!
-
Parking - Saturday Night GalaMuseum of the Bible: There are a few parking garages near Museum of the Bible. We encourage attendees to park at either the Colonial Parking (321 Virginia Ave SW, Washington, DC 20024) or SP+ Parking at Patriots Plaza (395 E St SW, Washington, DC 20546). Otherwise, attendees will need to find street parking nearby (generally free in DC after 6:30pm). However, we would strongly encourage people to Uber/Lift or use the Metro when going to this event. The parking is expensive and you will have to walk quite a ways to the actual entrance.
-
Parking - SundayThere will be parking at the DC Temple parking lot during church. For the afternoon, we will be meeting in the adjacent DC Stake Center, and can park at that building
-
Parking - Saturday DayThere will be limited parking at a lot near the 23rd St meetinghouses for those who have mobility issues and those helping with the conference. Other conference attendees will need to park at public parking garages on 23rd St and either walk or shuttle to the churches. (Parking garages - 2221 S Clark St, Arlington, VA 22202; 2144 Crystal Dr, Arlington, VA 22202)
-

What public transporation options are there? If you are not bringing a vehicle, there is a good chance you can take public transportation or arrange for carpools. There is a metro that runs through many areas of Washington DC and near the 23rd St Meetinghouses in Arlington, but they will not take you to the Friday night social, might not get you to your Saturday activities, and will take multiple modes of transport to get to the DC Temple on Sunday. We invite people to consider carpooling (which can be coordinated through the conference Whova app), take an Uber (cheaper than Lyft in this area), or use public transportation. We are also looking into providing shuttles, which may be used to help conference attendees staying at Georgetown University, transport attendees between parking and the churches on Saturday, transport attendees to certain activities on Saturday afternoon, and possibly between the DC Temple and the nearby Forest Glen metro stop.
-
ShuttleWe are currently attempting to secure shuttles for the conference to help with rides and alleviate the parking situation. The shuttle will be available for those staying at the Georgetown University housing, in transporting some people to specific activities on Saturday afternoon, and in helping people get from the Forest Glen metro to the temple on Sunday. PLEASE indicate your need for rides on the registration form (provided after purchasing your conference ticket).
